Verdict

CLEVER DICK is plunged straight into handicap company on his fencing bow but the move may well pay dividends as David Pipe's charge is only 4lb higher than when successful over hurdles at Taunton in February and he has a chasing pedigree. O'Callaghan Strand also tackles fences for the first time but is less well treated while Getaway Driver was never travelling before being pulled up at Hereford on Tuesday. Gainsborough's Art won at Bangor in March but that was a particularly weak contest and he finished a distance behind the winner when second at Plumpton subsequently off today's mark.
