Verdict

BARRIE BURN was the subject of a gamble on his reappearance at Aintree but, after travelling strongly, A P McCoy pulled him up when he started to hang badly left up the straight. The fact that he's back in action fairly quickly suggests early fears that he had gone lame were unfounded and the JP McManus-owned five-year-old is fancied to make amends today as he should reverse Bangor running in March with Pie At Midnight on today's revised terms. Milano Supremo ran well at Kelso last month and looks a danger while there may be more come from Musselburgh fifth Bridlingtonbygones, but Descaro is probably best watched at present.
