In depth

Verdict

The winner of a maiden and novice hurdles at Catterick, Yorkist carries a 7lb penalty back in a handicap. It could pay to take him on with CHALK IT DOWN as Warren Greatrex' charge posted a much better effort at Huntingdon last month when fourth to Wadswick Court, who has since gone in again. The latter is also preferred to Leicester winner Favourite Girl, only fourth off a higher mark last time but dropping back in trip today. Mulligan's Man had no luck chasing last year but had won three of his four starts over timber earlier. Cappielow Park was still well beaten despite finishing second at Fakenham last time and needs more here.
