In depth

Verdict

LAUGHING GAME has an appealing weight and he is narrowly preferred to the hat-trick seeking Vivarini and the potentially well-handicapped Restezen D'Armour. Racing off bottom weight in this competitive handicap, the selection may still be fairly treated after a 5lb rise in the weights for a gutsy win here last month. Soft ground holds no fears and Will Kennedy knows the horse well so a bold bid is expected. Transporter needs a market check, Mike Sowersby has two consistent horses in the form of Baileys Benchmark and Seven Stars, whilst Restezen D'Armour makes his handicap bow off a tasty looking mark of 95. Headgear needs to revive Lennox Gardens, Stick Together also tries some headgear, whilst Bled represents a yard in form and is afforded respect accordingly. Vivarini is now 13lb higher than when winning at Huntingdon last time, Take It There is consistent and loves the mud, whilst Future Vision is interesting now tackling easier company and looks the pick of the Jonjo O'Neill runners. This is a very open race, where the tentative nod is given to Laughing Game.
