ENLIGHTENMENT was only narrowly beaten at Stratford on Thursday and is taken to go one better at the expense of Shiwawa and Border Tale. The selection finished second to Dancewiththedevil on his latest outing as connections tried to take advantage of his lenient hurdle rating. He looks a chaser through and through but now that he is rated 135 there are fewer opportunities for him. He has proved to be very versatile winning on the all weather at Lingfield in the winter and he now bids to win over hurdles with six pounds in hand so with luck in running he will not be far away. Shiwawa has landed a hat-trick of wins in novice events this summer but was unable to score off a mark of 122 when finishing fourth to English City at this venue last time out. He does steps back down in trip and has been dropped a pound in the ratings which ought to enhance his chances. Border Tale has been a versatile sort over the years winning nine times over hurdles and on the level. He ran a fair race on the flat at Catterick finishing third of twelve last time out but he looks weighted too his best over hurdles for the time being so should be treated with caution. As long as his race three days ago at Stratford has not taken its toll Enlightenment should come out on top.
