Verdict

The finale is likely to be disputed by FIDELIS, Kaladan and Wembley Way, with our preference being for the first-named. Second last time out in what was his third run, he seems to be getting the hang of racing, without being anything spectacular. Wembley Way represents Nicky Henderson who's won this race previously. On his one run to date he unseated his rider when bumped through no fault of his own,so we've yet to really see what he's capable of. Kaladan won on debut for Noel Chance and tries to follow that up seven months on for Tim Vaughan who's got a knack of taking horses from elsewhere and improving them. He looked a nice sort first time out, and comes from a dam who had a good career on the flat and over hurdles. He'll have been well schooled over the winter, and any support would be encouraging. Likewise for any of the newcomers, particularly Evan Williams' gelding. However, we're plumping for one with experience, albeit limited, and that's Fidelis.
