Verdict

Derby winner Ruler Of The World's subsequent defeat in Ireland has left some questioning the merit of the Epsom Classic but this Group 1 contest could boost the form. Battle Of Marengo and OCOVANGO finished fourth and fifth respectively at Epsom and though Ballydoyle won this prize last year, the home team is fancied to come out best today. Andre Fabre's colt had to be switched from off the rail in the Derby and did well to finish as close as he did in retrospect. He's fancied to reverse running with Battle Of Marengo with normal luck in-running. The Fabre team are also represented by Group 3 winner Flintshire, who beat Park Reel and Manndawi at Chantilly last time, and he makes more appeal then stablemate and Listed winner Au Revoir and the all-weather winner Singing. Max Dynamite was well beaten in the French Derby last time and has a bit to find with the selection on earlier running anyway.
