In depth

Verdict

Alexandr Nevsky won a Fairyhouse bumper in September and was expected to make a winning start over hurdles but was a little disappointing behind Pat Garrett at Sligo. Moby Dick was poor on the Flat but has done well in his two starts over timber and should improve again while Rodriguez has shown enough potential to be considered for a place at least. THOMAS EDISON is the only horse so far to finish in front of subsequent dual Grade 1 winner Champagne Fever which he did in a Leopardstown bumper in December. Tony Martin looks to have a potential star on his hands and he's taken to make a winning debut over hurdles. David Wachman doesn't have many jumpers so Echoes Of History, a winner on the Flat at Clonmel in September, is interesting on his debut over timber.
