APPLEJACK LAD went close to catching Drive On in a much better Class 2 race here last Saturday. He had Capers Royal Star back in sixth and John Ryan's charge can go one better in this lesser company. Irish Tears has come up short in similar grade contests of late but the less-exposed Alderley may be capable of further improvement having won a maiden at Wolverhampton on her latest start. Sebs Sensei will need to step up on his recent modest form and Sweet Alibi's only win to date came on soft ground.
