In depth

Verdict

TODAY'S THE DAY has the experience and form to win the opener at the expense of Maswerte and Dimander. Although winless in nine outings to date the selection has consistent form to her name. She has been knocking on the door of late and the addition of blinkers has worked in her favour. She caught the eye when third of nine at this venue over six furlongs last time out and this step up in trip ought to suit. With that in mind she is the one horse in the race to stay on the right side of. Maswerte comes from a top stable and was well backed at Lingfield last time out. He was a shade disappointing that day but this does look like an easier opportunity for him so any market moves should be noted. Dimander is the biggest danger to the selection after showing marked improvement from his debut at Kempton to finish a fair second of ten behind Pezula Bay over course and distance last time out. With more improvement to come he is sure to be in the shake up once again, however for the winner we return to Today's The Day.
