In depth

Verdict

Distant Drums only just managed to open his account in a poor looking Brighton maiden last time and, while he has gone well here before, the Barry Hills-trained filly looks plenty high enough in the weights for what she has achieved so preference is for Whistleupthewind, who gets the vote ahead of Bucharest. The last mentioned was good value for his win at Haydock last time but Michael Wigham's gelding has disappointed on all three previous attempts on the Polytrack so is hard to recommend. Young Bertie is consistent and deserves to win a race but may need some help from the handicapper. Endless Night is another entitled to respect but the vote goes to Whistleupthewind, who has shown progressive form of late and may be worth another chance on the sand.
