        Verdict

        General Feeling did it nicely last time but THE WILY WOODCOCK may improve for first-time blinkers and he gets the vote over Bavarica and Bookiebasher Babe. Backing a 16-race maiden is not always the way to riches, but Gary Moore's charge has shown enough recently to suggest that he can pick up a race sooner rather than later. He was very well supported last time and it is hoped that the headgear will spark him into action this afternoon. Bavarica carries top-weight but she is ultra consistent and is unlikely to be far away for Amy Baker who knows her well (although yet to win on her!). Maybe I Wont has won here before and is better than he showed last time, however his runs have come over sprint trips and stamina is yet to prove for this distance. Onenightinlisbon is starting to look well-handicapped, Bookiebasher Babe ran well in a stronger race last time, whilst Melt is winless in 12 but has another crack at a mile this afternoon. General Feeling was a ready winner last time out and runs this course well; he must rate as the main danger but a 4lb rise in the weights puts him on a career high mark and so we will take him on with The Wily Woodcock.
