Verdict

It's only seven months since RANSOM NOTE was running against Frankel and Excelebration in the Lockinge. He's won seven times on the Flat, including at Group 2 and Group 3 level, and the only question here is whether he'll stay the trip, a run over hurdles at Kempton in November having proved inconclusive as he didn't jump well. If the six-year-old lasts home, he will surely be far too good for these. Keep Kicking won at Kempton on Friday and Staigue Fort was just beaten here earlier this month but they will only be playing for places if the selection runs to his best and The Fonz appears to have lost a little of his enthusiasm lately, though was a decent handicapper on the Flat in his younger days. Shernando may be best of the rest as he was also a good handicapper on the level but he's disappointed over hurdles while winning hurdler Foster's Road wouldn't have lived with some of these on the Flat.
