        Verdict

        A chance is taken on HEREFORD BOY who is selected ahead of Fromsong and speedster Ten Down. Dean Ivory's gelding is now rated 72, a mark that is now 3lb lower than his latest win in April of last year at Folkestone. He is a course and distance winner, has a good draw, and can gain his first success in the blinkers. Lochstar, Fromsong and Requisite all have winning course form to their name, as do Ten Down and The Jobber, of which the former would have made more appeal from a lower draw. Whiskey Creek is arguably well-handicapped, whilst Rebecca De Winter did well for Richard Hannon last season and is one to keep an eye on in the betting. Peak District is interesting with Ryan Moore booked, as is front-runner Almaty Express but he goes best for Daryll Holland and may not get his own way in front. This looks a very tight sprint and it is only tentatively that we nominate Hereford Boy.
