In depth

Verdict

This looks competitive with no fewer than 15 runners set to face the starter but Nicky Henderson's THEFT is less exposed than her rivals after just seven starts, looks to be going the right way and she gets the vote to open her account today with the main dangers rated as Armenian Boy and Prince du Seuil. Alan King's gelding showed better form when returned to hurdles at Sandown recently after three outings over fences previously this term and he has to be respected having been dropped 2lbs since then. Make Haste disappointed on heavy ground at Exeter at the beginning of the month and may do better back on faster ground today as he preferred that on the flat. Gary Moore's Cockatoo has been placed in his last two starts but seems a shade high in the handicap at present, while A Bit of Fun has more to do off a 7lb higher mark than when successful at Taunton last time. Mollys Garden stepped up on previous efforts when successful at Stratford earlier this month and he has every chance off just a 5lb higher mark today, while David Pipe's Armenian Boy improved considerably on his reappearance run when a good third last time and he has every chance if able to step up on that again. Preference though is for Nicky Henderson's Theft, who is taken to open her account over timber.
