Verdict

With plenty of recent winners in the line up, seeking the answer to this classified stakes event is no easy task, but Certifiable might just prove the one to be on ahead of Catalini, Whitgift Rock and Alfridini. Apart from those mentioned, Hawkit and Tiger Tiger are also worth a mention, but Certifiable gets the narrow call after his recent course and distance success. The son of Deploy has been a bit of a handful so far during his brief career, having had an aversion to starting stalls and being banned for six months. However, that is all behind him now judged on his gutsy, all-the-way win here last month. He went off at odds of 66-1 that day but will be much shorter here and quite rightly so. Expect a similar performance here, and now that the penny has dropped, he can follow up. Whitgift Rock came out best in a blanket finish on his last engagement which was over two months ago, and so might not be as sharp as required. Nevertheless it was a sterling effort and he can make the frame. Catalini, in the Sheikh Mohammed colours, is still a maiden but was though good enough to take on Snow Ridge no less, on his Kempton juvenile debut, and although beaten on his all-weather debut here, handled the Polytrack really well, and should improve. Alfridini drops back in trip after opening his account narrowly over 10 furlongs last time. He looks a battler but may be outpaced in the closing stages, and for the winner we return to Certifiable.
