An amateur event to open the card and Sounds Lucky can gain back-to-back wins in this race, with a number of others qualifying for the maxim of 'might go well if back to their best'. That win for the selection came for today's rider and from the same mark that he now races from so his chance is there for all to see. Looking at the others. Illusive looks held by the selection on the basis of their runs in this contest last year. Superchief is well-handicapped on the best of his form but his wins have come at seven and eight furlongs. Effective hails from a canny stable and can be given a chance based on his Wolverhampton form. Whippasnapper has won at five and seven furlongs, but never six, but has place claims if back to his best. Inistrahull Island is interesting in that he has never been tried at this trip but could go well if getting to the head of affairs early doors in his first-time visor. Legalis is well-handicapped based on Wolverhampton form of December 2002. Gun Salute's maiden course and distance win in December from Prince Aaron has been given a big boost since. He raced too freely over seven last time but can't be ruled out if taking to the occasion. And Ladies Knight won here over five furlongs last March, and it would be no surprise to see him go well also. Not a straightforward race but we'll still stick with Sounds Lucky to land another win in this six-furlong contest for amateur riders.
