Verdict

The Black Jacobin could figure dropping back down in class and Gold Roll has a shout stepping up in distance for his first start on Polytrack. Gigli was unfancied for her debut at Kempton and never threatened when finishing a modest sixth. Better is expected from her but COUNTRYMAN showed a big improvement on his debut when fourth at the same track last time and Hughie Morrison's colt gets the nod with further progress expected. Ashamaly is the first foal of an unraced half-sister to several Group winners and should be noted in the betting on his introduction.
