Verdict

Spanish Conquest gets our vote in the finale with Zalkani and Full of Promise the others for the shortlist. Sir Mark Prescott is a master at improving horses once they are stepped-up in trip and Spanish Conquest is a case in point. He was second behind Polyquest at Kempton last time but they came clear of the rest of the field that day and he can gain his compensation for that narrow defeat today. Zalkani has been running well lately but he let himself down at Wolverhampton last time when he was well beaten and he will need to leave that running behind to make the frame today. Full Of Promise ran well in an apprentice handicap here last time and this step-up in trip should play to her strengths. She is unexposed and she makes plenty of appeal, espeically as she is proven on this surface. Summer Bounty has run well on his last two starts but this 11-year-old is throughly exposed and looks primed for a minor role again here. All of which returns us to Spanish Conquest who should prove tough to beat.
