Verdict

Marco Botti won this in 2010 with Group 1 winner Gitano Hernando and PLANTEUR is hard to oppose in this year's renewal. The former Prix Ganay winner doesn't look quite good enough at the highest level nowadays but was still capable of running within a length of Cirrus Des Aigles last season and is the one to beat on that form. Stablemate Marcret won the Group 3 Huxley Stakes at Chester last May but was well beaten in Turkey last time on the same card as the Group 2 race Arsaadi finished third later. The latter pair are a cut above the remaining handicappers with Emerald Wilderness and last year's runner-up Tinshu looking the best of those.
