The market will invariably be valuable in a maiden where the form of those who have run is not the strongest, and whilst Northern Dune takes the eye for a shrewd stable with Jamie Spencer up, there are some good horses in opposition and the vote goes to Marcus Tregoning's debutante Ravenna. The selection is a half-sister to the smart Don't Call Me Derek and whilst she may require more distance in time to be at her best, she could be good enough to take this event, especially as she has a good draw. If the money comes for Barney Curley's colt Northern Dune, take note, whilst Tilapia ran with a degree of promise on his debut after running very green and should have come on markedly for that run. Of the rest, My Drop is an interesting newcomer and should be monitored closely, and Iron Pearl has improved with every race and could be a danger. In what is an intriguing maiden, the tentative vote goes to Ravenna.
