Verdict

OVETT took another step forward when making all for an easy win at Kempton on Wednesday. He can effectively race of a lower mark today with Ned Curtis' 7lb claim taken into account and looks the one to beat. Small Fury is another on the upgrade but has a penalty for last week's cosy win at Wolverhampton and is closely matched on collateral form with Blazing Knight. The latter landed a double at Wolverhampton himself before well beaten at Doncaster last time. Archie Stevens won at Dunstall Park in November but has struggled off higher marks since.
