In depth

Verdict

Cuthbert may not find it easy to dominate this field from the widest box on his return to action so a chance is taken with LINGFIELD BOUND instead. Other likely contenders include Rondeau, Mambo Spirit and First Service. Times Ahead needs to be considered ahead of his handicap bow, Cape Quarter has been made favourite on two thirds of his starts so clearly shows up well at home whilst Roshina has a good record on an artificial surface. First Service has more to prove but ran a more encouraging race last time and could find a little in first time cheekpieces for a yard that sent out a welcome winner a week ago but preference is for Lingfield Bound who has been off the track since finishing well held over ten furlongs at Folkestone. He was hampered that day over a trip that looked to stretch him but the form could hardly have worked out any better and he had previously gone close over this course and distance in a race that has thrown up winners and Lingfield Bound is taken to add his name to that list.
