Bottom weight APRIL FOOL gets the vote just ahead of course specialist Fiefdom with Twlight Star the each-way value. A winner over distance in a better contest than this on the polytrack at Kempton two starts ago the selection ran well on his latest trip to a racecourse despite finding the mile a bit far under a penalty. The gelding likes it around here too after taking a poor contest in June but it is his weight advantage on his rivals that is his biggest plus. Two wins and a place in Fiefdom's last three outings, all here at Lingfield will obviously appeal. Back to back wins over course and distance at the back end of the summer meant the assessor had to raise him two pounds for his latest outing where he still showed heart but couldn't quite get home with the extra weight. It's the same mark here but has to give our pick five pounds which may scupper his chances. Not to be discounted altogether though. Carmenero has a place chance at the very least as he is always there or there while at a big price Twilight Star can continue to improve and get in on the act but conditions seem to be right for April Fool.
