Verdict

The market might be the best guide in this maiden but in it's absence we choose BANTU to get the call with Winter Miss and Wine 'N Dine also in with a chance. The selection is the latest recruit for the very successful team of trainer John Gosden and owner Princess Haya of Jordan. Plenty of high class winners in the family of this unraced filly and the breeding suggests this distance will be her forte. Although unraced John Gosden has an impressive 20% strike rate with his maiden's this year and that could be the telling factor. Jeremy Noseda's Winter Miss has some racecourse experience and her last run can be forgiven after the saddle slipped in running. Her debut at Kempton last season impressed, she is very well bred and with her trainer having a good record on the surface she has a decent chance of banishing the maiden tag here. Wine 'N Dine showed plenty of promise on debut only to disappoint on his latest attempt. A return to debut form would have the gelding close but with this the first try on polytrack and with not much race history to go on he may be best watched. If there is money for either Cape Express or Annabelle's Charm then take notice but otherwise the selection has to go with Bantu.
