Verdict

Piceno's poor strike rate on the all-weather is off-putting and The Great Gabrial remains 6lb higher than when scoring over track and trip last month. Rugosa has shown nothing in a couple of outings this year and Kakapuka has failed to figure since scoring at Epsom during the summer. LEONARD THOMAS came with a late run to make a winning start over 7f at Kempton. The extra distance will suit on that evidence and David Lanigan's colt can follow-up on his handicap debut.
