Verdict

Alonso de Guzman, Generous Lad and Grande Caiman are the three to look at here with Alonso de Guzman taken to complete a hat trick. Grande Caiman won over the course and distance last time in good style, but it looked a weak race and a six pound penalty may be prohibitive. He seemed to improve for the step up in trip last time and can hit the frame. Generous Lad is the epitome of consistency, having been in the first three in 12 of his last 14 starts. He scored last time but shouldering top weight of ten stone may anchor him. Alonso de Guzman has shown remarkable improvement in his last two starts, as he has stepped up in trip. Despite his six pound penalty he only has to concede weight to one of his rivals and Alonso de Guzman, a tenacious sort, can outbattle his rivals here.
