Verdict

James Fanshawe trained LURCHER's dam Pitcroy to win a Sandown maiden on the Flat. The grey will be the Newmarket handler's first runner under NH Rules for four years but should have too much speed for this bunch and the booking of Denis O'Regan is a positive sign. The Pivotal gelding Rock Of Ages wasn't beaten far when fifth at Towcester and looks the pick of those with experience while Jimmy Sewell may prove best of Michael Appleby's pair and is worth noting for future reference along with Amazing Scene.
