Verdict

Tagansky hasn't improved since finishing second over 7f here back in July and Obsession is unlikely to be taking up his entry in the Derby on the evidence of his well-beaten debut effort here. Anna Fontenail showed some promise on her first start and Western Prize makes the most appeal of Ralph Beckett's newcomers but may need a longer trip to show his best. A chance is taken on Brett Johnson's debutant BYRONS BEAU, who is a half-brother to five winners between 6f and a mile including two on the all-weather. He could well be up to taking this on his first start.
