In depth

Verdict

Maslaha showed plenty of promise on her debut here behind Haydens Mark last month and she has to be respected but marginal preference is for West Lorne, with Candle Sahara rated the pick of the remainder. The selection has run well in both his starts so far, Mark Johnston's runners continue in good form and the daughter of Gone West is taken to open her account. Simon Dow's Seasonal Cross ran promisingly on her debut last month and has claims on that evidence, while Firespin ran better here over six furlongs last time but is not certain to appreciate the step up in trip. Mick Channon's Candle Sahara has shown a decent level of form and should again be thereabouts but it is hard to get away from West Lorne, who gets the vote.
