In depth

Verdict

This is Proper Charlie's first try over the minimum trip and he doesn't look particularly well berthed in stall seven. Jim Crowley, who has ridden him in both previous victories, is on board TANGO SKY today and it's Ralph Beckett's unexposed three-year-old who gets the nod as he just failed to hang on at Chester last time over an extra furlong. Billy Red and Pucon are both previous C&D winners while Gorgeous Goblin is starting to come down the weights but Invincible Lad may need a little more leniency from the handicapper before getting his head back in front and Expose and Falasteen have disappointed so far this year.
