In depth

Verdict

The hat-tick seeking Safari Sundowner is fancied to extend the winning sequence and gets the vote over My Mentor and Lord Of Dreams. That said, a move for Lordswood would also be noteworthy, as he is still very lightly weighted and has the assistance of a confident Hayley Turner booked for the ride. However, this is also a step up in grade and he needs to pull something out of the fire. Lord Of Dreams has the ability to figure strongly at this level and is worth a second look in the betting. Still, he doesn't win very often and has been expensive to follow on occasions. My Mentor tries this trip for only the second time and it would come as no surprise to see the son of Golan post a much better effort today. He seems to like this course and is the best alternative if the market throws up a few negatives about Safari Sundowner. Nevertheless, the Peter Winkworth-trained gelding has been very convincing in his last two outings and has an excellent chance of defying his penalty if he runs true to form.
