Rhyming Slang beat a couple of useful yardsticks when landing a mile maiden here last month and looks reasonably well treated for his debut in a handicap but Jeremy Noseda's colt is not certain to appreciate the step up in trip so preference is for Queen Noverre, who gets the vote ahead of Mafeking. The last mentioned has been running consistently well of late and is entitled to be thereabouts once more. Veiled Applause disappointed at Warwick last time but has claims on earlier form, while Coeur Courageux has slipped to a fair mark but is hard to back on recent evidence. Don Pietro has been running well but still only has one win to his name and preference is for Queen Noverre. The John Hills-trained filly has shown a decent level of form and may be good enough to follow up her recent Sandown success.
