In depth

Verdict

Not a race to dwell on for long and DARK RANGER might have his day, while Blessing Belle, Crystal Feather and Primo Dilettante are given due respect. Dark Ranger has already won here over a mile and ran a good race in context to be placed in a 10f Nottingham handicap last month. This trip looks ideal on pedigree and he is given another chance to get it right in what is not as competitive an event. Blessing Belle scored at Hamilton over a mile the other day in what was a poor seller, and although confidence will be high now, she might just find the selection a bit too good. Crystal Feather has run reasonably well on a couple of occasions at Southwell, though she needs to prove herself on this track and over this trip, so we¿ll take her on too. Primo Dilettante appreciated the drop into a claimer at Windsor last time out and as this is little better and he proved he gets this far, some more prize money probably awaits. Money for On Cue, who should strip fitter for her seasonal return last month, would be interesting, but we'll take Dark Ranger to score.
