Verdict

A small field for this maiden and the tentative vote goes to Valrhona ahead of the expensive-to-follow Gordonsville. The nomination goes to Jeremy Noseda's charge who has shown glimpses of ability in two starts to date. She didn't get the clearest of runs last time out but given a break since and now stepped up again in trip, she looks sure to go well. Gordonsville has been frustrating to follow having finished second numerous times and whilst man-of-the-moment Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle, he cannot be backed with any real confidence of breaking his duck. Precept seemed to have regressed when last seen, however that may have been down to the ground which was like a road and she may do better here, whilst Power Player seems to be progressing well and could play a hand in the finish now stepped up in trip. River Deuce should be respected returning from a mini-break, however Valrhona gets the nomination.
