Verdict

Jamie Spencer is back in the plate after a festive sabbatical and COMMANDINGPRESENCE can provide him with a winner, while Premier Angel and Haljaferia are others to note. The selection showed up very well when runner up over 7f on her debut at Wolverhampton last month and pedigree suggests that this step up in trip will suit. She should benefit from the experience there, where she hung a bit down the straight, and she can hang on to win today. Premier Angel should not be far away, judged on a running-on effort when second to Zim Ho in a similar contest just before Christmas. If she comes on for that, as we anticipate, then she can have a big say. Haljaferia runs in his third maiden here, so will qualify for a mark after this, and the gelding showed potential when in the frame last time. On balance he looks to have a bit to find with the other pair but that's not to say he can't bridge the gap. Maison D'Or showed some improvement last time but looks likely to be a better proposition when handicapping, while Lady's Art cost 85,000 Euros and pedigree suggests that this is a good starting trip, so she can go well for Hayley Turner. Commandingpresence can live up to his name.
