Verdict

A dreadful finale in which DAZZLING BEGUM is our pick with Marie Tempest and Has To Be Abacus are put up as makeweight alternatives. This is a race that is no better than plating class and as a consequence, stakes must be kept to a minimum. Jeff Pearce's horses are running well enough and having landed a seller under this rider, Dazzling Begum effectively gets the nod by default. Marie Tempest makes a debut for new connections having left the yard of Barry Hills. Has To Be Abacus has been backed on a couple of occasion so there must be latent ability somewhere along the line. Sea Cliff won a recent Novice hurdle at Huntingdon though gets in this handicap as he has shown nothing of note on the flat. Inquisitress is capable though out of form. Gun For Sale makes a handicap debut. Maddy is held in a little regard at the George Baker stable but she was wisely rested for a few weeks after losing her form during the autumn. Whodunit clearly hasn't lived up to the lavishness of his breeding. Dazzling Begum is the pick in a race that will make few headlines on Tuesday.
