Verdict

This is a tricky affair, but a chance is taken that Willie Muir's debutant STRIKE SHOT, a son of the Ayr Gold Cup winner Final Shot, can score from the promising pair, Diamond Affair and Stargaze. Diamond Affair was well backed to make a winning debut at Folkestone but came up against a classy type in Monsieur Chevalier, and having shown good pace, back pedalled in the closing stages. If his speed can be harnessed until the closing stages he can be a contender. Stargaze ran with great promise behind a well backed newcomer at Bath on his debut and he should come on a lot for that and can go close. However, Strike Shot is sprint bred, his first season sire Avonbridge had his first winner last weekend at Kempton, and he gets the vote.
