In depth

Verdict

Seb Sanders looks an eye-catching booking on Swiss Guard and Tim Vaughan's standard setter a tempting proposition but with Mark Johnston's excellent record in these types of races we take a chance on his newcomer PARHELION while Bussell Along could be value for a place. Related to plenty of winners including to some very classy types the selection is bred for this type of trip and further. The yard are on form and hold around a 40% strike-rate in three-year-old plus maidens at this track in the last five years so things look good for a decent first try. Swiss Guard is just about the highest rated in the field after shaping with some promise in Ireland. He makes his debut for a yard who go well with new charges first time up and the booking of Seb Sanders suggest they expect a performance. Jim Best's stable are in good form and rated at a pound less than the one we've just mentioned Barrell Of Fun has every chance of getting involved. Although looking exposed in this company Stef Liddiard's Bussell Along could find some minor prize money after a decent go on his last start as a three-year-old but in a contest that is tricky to call Parhelion has plenty in his favour.
