In this maiden, Yaroslav is selected ahead of Shevchenko and Zach's Harmony. Although having been beaten as favourite in each of his three starts to date, Shevchenko has shown a good level of maiden form in the process and ought to be able to go well here. That said, Yaroslav showed plenty of promise when fourth to Diamond Tycoon at Newbury on his debut and, given that he should improve a lot for the effort, is our selection for the race. John Gosden's newcomer, Appleby, could be interesting, while Everygrainofsand showed enough in a course and distance maiden here last time to be given some thought. Puissant Princess is surely better than her debut suggested and Spinal Tap showed some promise on his Folkestone debut last time. A 30,000 guineas son Diesis, the Brian Meehan-trained Zach's Harmony might go well but, for the selection, we will stick with Yaroslav.
