Verdict

Opus Maximus gets the confident vote in this maiden with Mask Of Conspiracy and Miss Firefly rating the main dangers. The selection was a good second on his debut despite running green behind Young Ivanhoe and with nominal improvement likely he will be hard to beat. Mask Of Conspiracy rates the main danger as he showed a little ability in two starts last season but the suspicion is he may need the run after a 172 day break and he is taken on with this in mind. Miss Firefly is from a yard in form but has had plenty of chances and again looks vulnerable. If the others Maid of Ailsa is a well bred filly by Pivotal and will not need to be anything special to take a hand in the finish so should be watched in the market but Opus Maximus looks sure to improve and looks the one to be on.
