Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Even Martin Pipe in his prime would have been hard pressed to find seven entries out of a ten runner maiden field but Peter Grayson, who does that here, still looks likely to be without the winner and that honour can go to Barry Hills-trained Allium. The selection is bred for speed and also to go well at this age and comes from connections who look like they have spotted a good opportunity for a debut win. Jamie Osborne's runners are in cracking form, so Premier Yank may well improve significantly on his Bath debut and give the selection most to do. Capriccioso does not look to be Gary Moore's most talented inmate but can show us more now she has had racecourse experience, while the best of the Grayson's not-quite-so magnificent seven may well prove to be debutante Stoneacre Chris, but Allium is our idea of the winner.
