Verdict

UNCLE JUNIOR, unbeaten in two bumpers and the winner of three hurdles, has made a decent start over fences with his close second to Wise Old Owl over this C&D the stand-out form. He was a little disappointing when beaten at Thurles last time though the 2m2f trip was on the short side. He looks to have most to fear from Roi Du Mee, who has been lacking in pace over shorter trips and will appreciate more of a stamina test. Bit Of A Devil is another who should benefit from a stiff test as both of his hurding successes were gained over 2m7f. He's jumped quite well on his two starts over fences and should reach a place at least. Neither Gusda nor Grange Alainn have shown much to date over fences but look the type to do better and both are very much heavy ground specialists.
