In depth

Verdict

Mountrath-based handler Liam Cusack took full advantage of LAST TIME D'ALBAIN's very lenient mark over timber when he scored in very testing ground at Punchestown. Ruby Walsh was hard at work from a long way out on the eight-year-old but the persistence paid off and his mount can go in again despite a huge 11lb rise in the ratings which is still 25lb lower than his chase mark. Vic Chic heads for a hat-trick after victories in heavy going at Tipperary and Punchestown. She's been hit with a 10lb rise but there's more to come and it will be a surprise if she's not in the shake-up. Liszt has been placed four times over timber but is still a maiden. He hasn't looked happy over fences on his last two starts ad is on a low enough handicap mark to get involved with The Sneezer, another who is well handicapped compared to his chase rating, likely to prove best of the remainder.
