In depth

Verdict

Nucals Star was a disappointing favourite in a Leopardstown nursery on his final start but got himself in a lather before the race and was nowhere near his best. Swampfire made a fair start in a Leopardstown maiden and will have benefited from the experience though it's a surprise to see him fitted with blinkers. Baitsileir and Estithmaar are newcomers to watch but this can go to WALKING ON WATER. Dermot Weld's Galileo colt wasn't forward enough to do himself justice as a juvenile but should do very much better this year and holds entries in the 2000 Guineas and Derby at the Curragh.
