Verdict

Deire Na Sli likes to lie handy and showed good speed at the Curragh last time though she had no answer when Handassa swept past at the furlong pole. Eagle Canyon started a short-priced favourite over a mile at Listowel but the soft ground appeared to catch him out and he dropped away tamely. A close fourth that day was NUCALS STAR, who has subsequently been narrowly beaten twice and can make amends for his short-head defeat by Il Boro at Navan last time. Gentleman Duke couldn't go quick enough over 6f at Naas but had earlier scored very easily over today's trip at Sligo and more rain would aid his cause.
