Verdict

Gordon Elliott had six entries at the early stage and relies on the frustrating FORT SMITH, who has now had eleven starts over timber without winning. His overall form is far superior to that of these rivals and though he can hardly be supported with confidence he gets another chance to put matters right. Heck Thomas is slowly making his way back after a very long absence as he showed with a fine run behind the useful Fletcher over the course and distance last month. He'll improve again and looks the main threat. Mount Beckham twice ran poorly over this trip before showing improved form when dropped back to the minimum at Down Royal though the very testing ground could have been responsible. Robin Des People is entitled to make progress from his opening run over timber behind Total Recall at Punchestown while the presence of Ruby Walsh on Voices Of Spring suggests he's expected to make progress.
