Verdict

Champagne James made a winning bumper debut at Navan before beaten by the potentially useful Union Dues there a year ago. RICH COAST ended a fine Flat campaign by completing a double and earning a rating of 110. He looked in need of experience on his hurdling debut and, as that will have done him good, he can take this. Defining Year was also rated in the 100's on the level and ran in some top races last year though he hasn't been seen for well over a year. Ebazziyr has done well in bumpers and showed real battling qualities to beat Carnduff at Down Royal.
