Verdict

FAMOUS NAME is admirably consistent at Listed and Group 3 level and should gain his eighth victory in 17 starts. He returned to action on faster ground than he normally enjoys at this track last month and had no problems beating Recharge by over two lengths. Duff has been a fantastic servant for Edward Lynam having won eight races including the Group 2 Park Stakes over 7f at Doncaster in September. He is penalised for that success and hasn't been seen since a fair run in the Hong Kong Mile in December. Irish Lincolnshire winner Big Robert is generally beaten when stepping out of handicap company as he was in a Listed race at the Curragh subsequently and though King Jock has won 10 races in a long career he was beaten by Duff at Tipperary in October. Rose Hip appeared to improve last year despite her age but was well beaten on her return in a Listed event at Gowran.
