Verdict

The previous two renewals have gone to odds-on chances from Ballydoyle and BATTLE OF MARENGO will probably start favourite after his demolition job at Gowran which he won by 11 lengths. The son of Galileo is regarded as more of a good-ground performer so to quicken as he did that day suggests he'll be very hard to beat and entries in the top autumn juvenile races should be justified. Orgilgo Bay is the obvious form pick on his close second to subsequent Group 2 winner First Cornerstone at Tipperary. Both runs to date have been on very testing ground but if he handles the quicker going it will take a big performance to beat him. Dibayani had beaten him narrowly at the Curragh earlier but was over four lengths behind at Tipperary and looks held. Canary Row was twice runner-up to top juvenile Dawn Approach early in the campaign while Thunder Mountain was an impressive maiden winner at Galway. Jim Bolger has had a brilliant season with juveniles and wouldn't be pitching newcomer Trading Leather into this company without good reason.
